    Velvet decorative pillows

A set for decorative pillows has been added to the rich offer of our store.

From the proposed set you will sew a set of two pillows: square 40x40cm and rectangular 30x50cm.

In the following post I will show you how to sew a simple pillow without an insert, and a pillow with a zippered pillowcase. I hope this post will inspire you to get creative with our sets!

    Method One: SIMPLE PILLOW.

    You need:
    - A set from dresówka.pl (you'll find two pillowcase panels, a silicone ball and two tags)
    - A sewing machine or a serger
    - hand sewing needles

    1. Cut out the printed panels. Fold the pillowcase right side to right side. Pay attention to the direction of the velour fibers. Sew the pillowcase on all sides. REMEMBER to leave an opening of about 12 cm for turning the pillowcase inside out and stuffing it with a ball.

    2. Fill the pillow with a ball.

    PILLOWCASE WITH ZIPPER

    You need:
    - A set from dresówka.pl (you will find a pillowcase panel, a silicone ball)
    - zipper tape
    - zipper
    - pins or clothespins
    - feet for sewing in the zipper
    1. Cut the zipper tape to the length of the side where the zipper will be located. I chose the shorter one.

    2. Put the zipper on the tape and secure the ends of the tape from opening. Sew at the edge, on the left side of the tape.

    3. Fold the pillowcase pieces right side to right side and make two short stitches at the edges - at a height of about 1.5 and a length of about 2cm

    4. Unfold the resulting reserve, you can iron it (remember, through the other fabric). It will serve as an overlap, under which the zipper will hide.

    5. Attach the zipper tape with pins or buckles to the resulting reserve  (right side of the tape to the right side of the reserve)

    6. Sew the tape using a zipper sewing foot. Do not start at the edge, make a slight "overlap" up to the seam you have already made

    7. Turn the fabric right side out. The lock is already hiding in our reserves.

    8. Stitch on the right of the resulting tab

    9. The lock just hid in an elegant overlap!

    10. Sew the pillowcase. Fold the fabric right side to right side, sew the remaining edges. I did this using a serger.

    11. Turn it right side out, push out corners, stuff with a ball or insert a ball filler and you're done!

    Have a successful sewing!
