The kimono blouse is inspired by traditional Japanese style. It will add an oriental touch to your styling. We designed the KIMONO blouse with comfort and ease in mind. It has a loose, airy cut that is perfect for warm days. The kimono blouse is a favourite with many women who appreciate comfortable fashion. Our kimono is comfortable to wear, without restricting movement or unnecessary creases. The sleeves are finished with a counter-fold and cuff, which makes the kimono look unusual and elegant. The model has a V neckline, optically slimming and elongating the neck. An additional tie belt allows you to individually adjust the blouse to your figure. You can wear it loose, or tie the belt to accentuate your waist and add some elegance to your styling.
Cut out the paper pattern. Place the pattern elements on the fabric, remember to keep the thread straight. When covering the neckline, you can use interlining, it will make sewing easier and shape the neckline.
Cut out all the pieces from the fabric:
-2x back
-1x front
-1x belt
-1x front neckline cover
-1x covering of the back neckline
-2x sleeve cuff
1.BACK BLOUSE. Place the two elements of the back of the kimono right sides together, pin and sew in the middle. Cast the resulting seam and iron it. The seam can be stitched to 1mm.
2. Lay the front and back of the blouse right sides together and sew the shoulder seams and throw an overlock.
3. Lay the hems of the blouse right sides together and sew. The stitched drapes should look identical to the top blouse and match it. Iron the seams of the sewn drape and now cast its outer part on the overlock. Pin the hem to the blouse with the raw side down, right to right, with the shoulder s eams overlapping. Sew. Iron the lining inside, shape the neckline. You can now stitch the neckline to the same distance, there are many options, it can be 1mm or 2cm, you can also leave it just ironed and fasten it inside at the shoulder seams hand stitch.
4. Then fold the shirt right sides together and sew the side seams together, throw an overlock.
5. Make box pleats at the bottom of the sleeves. Place two folds of fabric exactly at the end of the shoulder seam so that they touch the edges, pin them so that they take 7 cm from the volume of the sleeve. Fold the elements for the sleeve welt in half so as to sew the short sides, sew, iron the seam. Iron the welt in half around the perimeter and pin it to the sleeve, sew and overlay the resulting seam on the overlock. Repeat with the other sleeve.
6. Put the bottom of the blouse on the overlock and hem it 1 cm, make a lockstitch 1 mm from the bottom.
7. Fold the long strip in half along the length right side to right and sew, leaving an opening for the fold. Turn the sewn belt to the right side and iron it. Stitch the belt by sewing the opening and tie the blouse with it.
