Fennir is a beast accompanied by gusts of ominous wind. It haunts the mountains on clear and sunny days, bringing bitter frosts in winter. The creature's robes carry snow dust and ice particles into the air, which circulate among the drifts, rubbing against the snow. The melodies that arise from these movements are adored by this Beast who, hypnotized, moves to this rhythm. The dance is intensified by the wind, the frosty crystals rage, and the creature finally collapses from exhaustion, breaking up into thousands of fragments. These fragments will be dispersed across the Karkonosze Mountains, so that he can be reborn in another corner of the mountains and start dancing anew. Although Fennir does not intentionally harm people, a chance meeting ends in a dance together, in which the human is like a puppet. Wounding particles and frosty blasts are extremely dangerous to an ordinary mortal, so you have to use all your strength to free yourself from the Beast's arms.
Fennir comes from the "Jelenia Góra Bestiary", which was created out of a passion for photography, drawing and writing. Tomasz Szyrwiel supplemented his photographs with creatures hidden under the fog, and spices them up with stories that arise in the mind during photographic journeys, explaining their origin and influence on the Jelenia Góra Valley.
