DECORATIVE PILLOW

DECORATIVE ROUND PILLOW
You need:
- a set from dresówka.pl
- multifunctional machine
- feet for sewing in the zipper
- sewing accessories (scissors, pins, fabric marker)

We start by cutting out all the elements of the pillow:

The underside of the pillow consists of two parts connected by a zipper tape. These two small rectangles should be sewn together by the shorter sides on their left (inner) side. This strip will act as a zipper protection, preventing the pillow filling from getting entangled.

Make an overlap to sew the zipper.

After sewing the zipper, lay the underside of the pillow with the left side up and pin the zipper security strip. Then sew it on one side of the zipper.

Join the two strips together - decorative (wider) and surrounding (narrower) right side to right side. Attach both strips with the left side of the wider strip to the right side of the top of the pillow. Pin with pins, or tack. Start sewing 3cm from the beginning of the joined strips and finish sewing 5cm in front of where you started sewing.... This unsewn piece will make it easier to sew the shorter sides of the two strips separately (right side to right side) later. Match the length of the two pieces before sewing them together. After joining the strips, finish sewing them around the top of the pillow. You could sew the wider strip first (left side to the right side of the pillow) and then the narrower strip (right side to the right side of the wider strip), if this seems too complicated.

Attach the decorative strip to the top of the pillow, and tuck the surrounding strip underneath. Trim to make it even and ...

... stitch across the top all the way around.

Make an overlap of about 2cm wide around the decorative trim and stitch. This will be the place to pull in the elastic band.

We begin to join the two parts of the pillow. Lay the top part of the pillow with the right side up, and turn the surrounding strip up with the left side out.

Attach the bottom part of the pillow with the right side to the center, pin or tack and sew. Remember to detach the zipper before sewing, so there won't be a problem later.

Turn the pillow right side out. Pin, tack and sew the bottom circumference of the pillow.

Stuff the pillow.

Pull in the rubber band and the pillow is ready. Tie the excess rubber band and cut it off. Place the knot from the rubber band in the rubber band tunnel to make it look nice. The size of this center hole depends on how big the rubber band overlap will be.
DONE :)
