Royal Velvet – a soft upholstery velour with an elegant look

Royal Velvet is a high-quality upholstery fabric with an exceptionally soft, velvety surface. Its subtle sheen, deep colours and distinctive texture give it an elegant, cosy yet exclusive look.

The fabric is ideal for upholstery and decorative projects. It can be used, amongst other things, to upholster sofas, armchairs and chairs, as well as for making cushions, decorative panels, curtains, pet beds and other interior accessories.

Royal Velvet is characterised by good resistance to abrasion and stretching. Its surface has been given an additional finish that reduces the absorption of liquids, making the fabric well-suited to everyday use.

Recommended needles:

For sewing Royal Velvet, we recommend the Microtex/Sharp 80/12 needle. When sewing several layers of fabric, you can use a Microtex/Sharp 90/14 needle. The sharp, slender tip of the needle makes it easier to pierce the dense fabric precisely without unnecessarily damaging its surface. It is also worth selecting the needle according to the thickness of the thread and the type of machine being used.

Sewing tip:

When sewing several layers of fabric, they may shift relative to one another. In such cases, a walking foot can be helpful, as it makes it easier to guide the fabric evenly.

Cleaning and care:

We recommend removing stains and dirt using a soft sponge and a solution of soapy water at a temperature of up to 30°C. If necessary, a mild cleaning agent designed for this type of fabric may be used.

NOTE: Do not use harsh chemicals containing solvents or bleaching agents. Before using a cleaning product, we recommend testing it on an inconspicuous area.
