BIO REVOLUTION in Dresówka.pl - Stage II

You make a wise choice with us!

We are proud and happy to announce that cotton single jersey with imprint is joining our collection of organic fabrics!

In autumn, we took the first step by introducing organic looped knit fabric as a standard fabric in our printing house. Now it's time for the next step.

Printed single jersey with elastane has been your favorite fabric in the spring-summer season for years. From now on we will only manufacture it in the organic version!
Our printing method is also the only one on the market that complies with organic production standards.

And why do we brag about it and why is it important?

In short, the situation looks like this:

Cotton production is responsible for a very significant share in environmental pollution. It is even said that it ranks second in this infamous ranking, second only to heavy industry. All through the rush to produce the cheapest raw material, and thus cheap clothing in chain stores and discount stores.

The industrial cultivation of cotton exploits nature and leads directly to ecological disaster, also degenerating the local community. Pesticides used in such crops not only pollute the ecosystem, they are also harmful to people working on plantations.
It is worth mentioning that cotton is most often grown in regions with the highest poverty rates, children are often used for production, and the work itself has the features of modern slavery.

However, this is not all. Also in subsequent stages, i.e. bleaching, dyeing or printing, consumption and pollution of huge amounts of water is estimated, from 7 to 29 thousand liters for each kilogram of cotton. And this is already happening here, "here" in Europe.

Sewing, instead of buying in chain stores, we take a big step in the right direction. Tailor-made clothes are usually used until they are damaged, worn more often, passed on and rarely thrown away. Now you can take one step further in changing the world for the better.

That is why we focus on organic cotton. This is the best, ecological alternative to fabrics that you know and love.

    In brief:
    - grown from non-genetically modified seeds, in a natural way

    - without the use of pesticides and insecticides, thanks to which the cultivation does not pollute the environment or adversely affect the health of the people involved in it

    - more than 50% lower water consumption in the production process

    - cultivation and production strictly controlled, without exploitation, respecting employees' rights

    - dyed and printed in Poland, in processes compliant with the organic production standard

Organic cotton is a fabric which production is controlled from plantation to finished product. Each of these stages is verified in terms of environmental impact and broadly understood commercial integrity. Cotton eco-crops are most often owned by small family businesses, where workers' rights are respected and income is provided directly to the local community.

Of course, changing cotton to organic does not bring any quality concessions. On the contrary, the knit fabric is even nicer and softer, and at the same time more durable.

For us it is a huge achievement, preceded by several years of effort. Every month we print several dozen kilometers of single jersey and looped knit fabric for you, now the fabrics are only of organic quality.

Products made from eco cotton are marked with a green "Dresówka.pl Organic" sign.

We are not a large corporation, we have no significant impact on the world around us, but we can do at least so much. We see it as an extremely important and joyful moment.

We do not rest on our laurels, we will continue to work on increasing the share of organic cotton in our production. Keep your fingers crossed!
